2022 San Juan County Master Gardener Virtual Training Program

Registration includes 16 weeks of virtual training programs, in addition to optional monthly in-person hands-on workshops. The classes are self-paced and will open weekly on Saturday nights until midnight the following Friday. Participants may complete the course on their own time through out the week.

Consistent with the New Mexico State Master Gardener Program mission, the mission of San Juan County Extension Master Gardener Program is to train certified volunteers who will assist the San Juan County Extension Service in providing residents with horticulturally-related information developed and approved by the Cooperative Extension Service of NMSU, while seeking to preserve and beautify the environment, thus improving the quality of life in the community.

Applicants should possess an interest in horticulture, as well as understand and support the educational objectives and volunteer service requirements of the Extension Master Gardener program.

All classes, testing, and general communication will be done online with the exception of in-person Question and Answer and Workshop sessions. Interns will access the weekly class, reading materials, and quizzes through NMSU On-Demand.

Applicants must possess computer skills, own or have ready access to computer equipment and devices that allow for connecting to online information and have access to reliable internet service.
